Desalination HP Pump Discharge Control
The flow control valve at the discharge of the hp pump is provided for
the following reasons to kill the pressure to suit the required pressure. Its becauseas u rate the pump for the 3rd yr and 20deg c membrane operation, the normal operation at the first yr requires lesser head.the
head can be reduced by vfd applying suitable affinity losses. thereis a
limit upto which your head and hence the remaining pressure is killed. Most of the times HP pumps are not controlled by VFD due to the high
cost of VFD (often Medium Voltage is required) so the only means to
control the discharge pressure is the plug valve.
Pressure
required by the system changes along the time with temperature, salinity
and membrane age, so the control valve is necessary to keep a certain
production.
