Routine maintenance and upkeep of plug valves

The following are several main maintenance items for daily maintenance:

(1) Fat injection frequency

Daily maintenance involves injecting sealant. The general frequency of fat injection is (whichever comes first):

1) Approximately 10 times of opening/closing;

2) Approximately 3-6 months apart;

3) When encountering operational difficulties;

4) When internal leakage occurs;

5) After on-site pressure testing, it is necessary to re grease once.

(2) Precautions for grease injection

1) Use a dedicated grease gun to inject grease into various parts of the valve. For specific operation methods, please refer to the grease gun operation and maintenance manual.

2) During the hydrostatic test,Plug Valve Products grease injection is required for each operation because 733 sealing grease is not ideal for water media and is only suitable for natural gas media during normal operation. 731 sealing grease is very suitable for aqueous media, but not for natural gas, so for natural gas media, only 733 sealing grease can be selected.

3) Under normal purified natural gas working conditions, each sufficient injection of grease can effectively open or close approximately 10 times.

4) When injecting grease, if possible, the valve should be opened or closed 1-3 times to ensure sufficient distribution of sealing grease on the surface of the plug. The pressure of the grease gun/pump is generally between 4000psi and 8000psi (280Bar-560Bar), and each valve is different. When using a grease pump to inject grease, the pressure rises but eventually drops, indicating that the sealing grease has been fully opened. The grease gun is manually operated intermittently and this phenomenon is not easy to see. Alternatively, based on the amount of grease injected, it can be roughly judged, for example: -2 "half a barrel, 4" one barrel, 6 "one and a half barrels, 8" -12 "half a barrel.

5) If the grease injection pressure reaches 8000psi, pause the operation of the grease injection gun, wait for a moment for the sealing grease inside to flow towards the surface of the plug, and then continue to inject grease. During the grease injection operation, the hand pressure action should not be too fast, otherwise it is not conducive to the sealing grease flowing towards the surface of the plug.

6) The sealing grease used for Serck Audco plug valve is 733 sealing grease.

7) The 1 "-6" valve can be equipped with a 400D grease gun, while the 1 "-36" valve can be equipped with a 10-90 grease pump.
